Steve Barclay talks to many and varied groups and societies with enthusiasm and charismatic authority about his own show business experiences. Recalling the comedians and stars of TV, Radio, and Variety.

Steve Barclay’s talk COMEDY HEROES recalls of some of the best loved comedians and entertainers.

During his highly informative presentation he recalls the comedy routines of famous variety comedians KEN DODD, TOMMY COOPER, LES DAWSON, RONNIE BARKER, ERIC MORECAMBE, beside many of the not so famous but notable comedy stars. Showing his obvious enthusiasm for his subject, you can almost feel the red velvet of the seats and smell the orange peel!

Nothing like a Dame

Steve Barclay’s fascinating talk NOTHING LIKE A DAME recalls some of the greatest pantomime dames ever, including ARTHUR ASKEY, BILLY DAINTY, TERRY SCOTT, and more recent pantomime dames such as LES DAWSON, DANNY LA RUE, and JOHN INMAN and CHRISTOPHER BIGGINS.

Steve an accomplished pantomime dame demonstrates ‘Before Your Very Eyes’ the skills of a traditional pantomime dame by inviting us to sample first-hand the smell of the grease paint. Transforming into a traditional pantomime Dame.

You Must Meet … Steve Barclay a proud member of the show business charity fraternity the Grand Order of Water Rats and the world famous Chelsea Lodge 3098. Steve has enjoyed playing theatres nationwide as a comedian with many of the top stars of show business including Danny La Rue OBE, Sir Norman Wisdom Rick Wakeman CBE, Katrina and the Waves - and many others, too many to list.. He has enjoyed playing the Swansea Grand, Bristol Hippodrome, Leeds City Varieties, and even the World-famous London Palladium.

Steve has cruised the world speaking to passengers on the ocean wave, delighting his audiences with his COMEDY HEROES and NOTHING LIKE A DAME presentations.

 

Steve played his first pantomime dame at the Derngate Theatre. Since then, Steve has never stopped playing pantomime dame.

More recently Steve played various Dames for seven consecutive seasons at Lincoln's Theatre Royal with comedy legends Cannon and Ball. In 2023 Steve presented his pantomime Dame talks  to luncheon clubs in Alicante Spain.

Steve presents two brilliantly entertaining After Dinner / Luncheon Speeches COMEDY HEROES and NOTHING LIKE A DAME.

In 2024 Steve penned his biography UNKNOWN TO MILLIONS with a foreword by Rick Wakeman CBE and an afterword by Freddie (Mr Parrot Face) Davies.
